Academic Program
The objectives of this department are to create a learning environment for the environmental engineering students, so that they have theoretical and practical knowledge. The students will also have analytical skills, thinking skills, critical skills, interpretation skills and knowledge, and integration of environmental engineering fields which will enable them to solve environmental problems found in water, wastewater, solid waste, soil and the environment.
Characteristics:
The Environmental Engineering department was established in June 2014, under the Faculty of Engineering and Architecture. At present only day time courses of study are offered.
The courses of this department focus on Water and Wastewater Engineering Design, Air Pollution Control, Solid and Hazardous Waste Management, Noise and Vibration Control, Industrial Safety Engineering, Water Quality Management, and Renewable Energy. The courses are designed to teach the environmental engineering students professional skills.
The facilities of this department include Hydrology Laboratory, Water and Wastewater Engineering Laboratory, Air Pollution Engineering Laboratory, Solid Waste Engineering Laboratory, and an Activities Room
